How to create an AWS account?
We will require to create an account on Amazon before we can use the Amazon Web Services (AWS). Amazon offers a 12 month limited fully functional free account that can be used to learn the different components of AWS.
With this account, we get access to services provided through AWS, but there are few limitations based on resources consumed.
Step1: Firstly, we go to the website https://aws.amazon.com/ and click on create a Free Account and enter the desired details.
If we already have an account, then we can sign-in the usage of the existing AWS password otherwise create an AWS account.
Step2: Click Create an AWS Account, as a display inside the following figure:
Step3: First, select I am a new user. It offers an E-mail or mobile number of an authorized person to open a new account, and lastly click on Sign in using our secure server as follows:
Step4: Now, fill our contact records. Amazon also makes use of this information for billing and invoicing. The Full Name area is also used by the AWS management console to pick out our account, as display in the following screenshot:
Step5: The next step is to fill our payment information. When we create an AWS account and sign up for services, we are needed to enter payment information.
Step6: After providing our payment information, confirm identity verification by entering our mobile number and security check code, and then click on the “call me now” button.
Step7: Then finally, select Support Plan, as display in the following figure:
It is based on the plan selected, and charges are implemented to the monthly billing.
Step8: The last step is confirmation. Click the link to login again, and it redirects to AWS management console.
At this phase, we have correctly created an AWS account, and we are ready to start using the services offered by AWS.
Deleting an AWS account
The way we created an AWS account, similarly, an AWS account can be deleted easily. Once logged in to the AWS account the usage of the root user, click at the right-hand side dropdown menu. Generally, it is marked with the name given at the time of creating an AWS account.
Under that, select My Account. It can open My Account Dashboard in a new tab. At the bottom of the dashboard, select the checkbox under Close Account and finally press Close Account as follows:
For the current month, billing can be finished at the end of the month. All the AWS resources and records will be wiped out. Once the account is closed, there could be no mechanism to undo and/or get the information back. It is highly encouraged to back up important information at a secured and safe area before closing the AWS account.
